ABC is getting lots of publicity mileage out of Chris Brown's Good Morning America outburst yesterday. (After his interview with Robin Roberts -- which angered him because it focused on his troubled past -- Brown performed one song, threw a violent fit in his dressing room and stormed out.)
One day prior to this, Dancing With the Stars announced that Brown would be their special guest performer on the March 29 episode. The question now is: Should he be allowed to promote his album on this big-shot ratings winner and family-oriented show after displaying such unprofessional, not to mention menacing, behavior?
Even casual viewers of DWTS might tune in to see whether Brown will make a public apology (which doesn't seem likely). But with this latest incident, Brown's done extra damage to his already-shaky credibility. This press tour was supposed to be his redemptive return to the spotlight. He's promoting an album, F.A.M.E., which stands for Forgiving All My Enemies. But who's going to accept his promotional talking points about forgiveness when he's clearly still angry? His handlers must be suggesting he that make amends, again.
Will he address the incident? Whether or not he does, ABC can count on a whole lot of viewers tuning in to find out.
